2008 has come and gone! Here’s wishing everyone a great 2009 ahead (I hope). I slept 2008 away, but took the chance to meet up with a couple of ex uni mates on the 1st of 2009. Algy, Jack, it was great to meet up with you both again. I hope you had as much fun as I did. Hanazen was fantastic, we should go back there again sometime soon

More Empty Promises
December 18th, 2008 · No Comments
If you’ve lived in Malaysia for a couple of years, and are a regular reader of news, you’ll probably have discovered by now how our gah-men (government) has this strange way of making promises one day, and then saying or doing something completely different a few months later.

New Dawg on the Block
December 17th, 2008 · No Comments
Gawd it’s been eons since my last post. I can barely even remember my blog address LoL! Anyhow, thing have been very busy in my life and I’m up to my eyebrows in work as well. Getting old I guess, so don’t have half the energy of my youth :p Comet is such a big boy now…but he’s still as hyper as ever. So in order that he doesn’t sweat so much, I gave him a haircut! Well, hair-trim actually. Nothing overly drastic, but at least he looks a lot neater lo.

Club Med @ Cherating
October 15th, 2008 · 3 Comments
It’s been eons since I last updated my blog, just tooooooo many things to do. This time round though I simply can’t avoid it. We took off for a company trip last Friday to Club Med @ Cherating, my very first road trip! I’m prpud to say my little Proton Saga performed like a champion, managing to keep pace with the two mercedes and two Frontiers that also went along. 140-160 kh/h all the way through the Karak Highway! Although I got slightly lost on the way there…hehehe….it was a good run nonetheless.

More Makan!
August 11th, 2008 · 5 Comments
Since it was a pretty lazy Sunday, Mum and I decided to wander around various places picking up foods to cook for my birthday feast. True, we were one day early, but what the heck, yeah? The end result was much more than both of us could handle though! Check out the scallops, crabs, etc, all for under RM100!

Fuck the Cabbies
July 22nd, 2008 · 2 Comments
If you’ve ever been to Malaysia on a visit, or even worse happen to live here, I’m sure you have encountered at one time or other the daylight robbery antics of many Malaysian taxi drivers. Please don’t give me that crap about ‘a few bad apples’ because I relied on public transportation for many years during my stay here. It is not merely a case of a few bad apples, but rather a whole bushel of them. They charge ridiculous prices and flatly refuse to go ‘by the meter’, although they are required to do so by law. The issue has been discussed by our government, highlighted by the media, discussed among peers, but so far, NOTHING has been done to effectively curb this nonsense.

Simple Words
July 20th, 2008 · No Comments
I recently came across these few lines somewhere in the vast depths of the internet;
“Letting go of someone dear to you is hard but holding on to someone who doesn’t feel the same is much harder.
Giving up doesn’t mean you’re weak. It only means that you’re strong enough to let go”
The words seem to bear a straightforward meaning, but upon reflection, they carry deeper connotations. Ponder upon them, and see if you perhaps can understand what I mean. It was really enlightening for me.

Shocking Revelations
July 9th, 2008 · 4 Comments
Due to some issues at work as well as minor technical difficulties as well as certain unforseen circumstances, I’ve sort of been neglecting my blog a lot recently. In fact, I’m posting only like around once a week on average now! I know it kind of sucks, so I’ve been expecting readership to drop sharply (not that there have been huge numbers of visitors anyway). Yet waking up at 5am in the morning today, I decided to fiddle. Imagine my shock when I logged in to my stat counter and find that readership has actually been climbing steadily instead of dropping. Now that’s really weird neh?

San Francosco Steak House
July 2nd, 2008 · 2 Comments
Apologies for this post getting out late as well, but I for some reason just sat on it and forgot to post it out! Anyhow, Boss was celebrating his birthday the other day, as well as the birthdays of two other colleagues in our office. So we headed down to San Fran Steak house for lunch one day to give ourselves a good feed at his expense, of course! There were around 15-20 of us, and I was seated opposite from a fellow food lover, thankfully. The menu seems kind fo spartan, but they did have some interesting choices.

More Food!
July 2nd, 2008 · 1 Comment
Been slightly too occupied with lots of stuff, both personal as well as with work to update much recently. However, I do have some nice foodie pix to share with you guys, just meant to make my darling sister jealousssss *grin* Over the weekend had some nice home cooked stuff, as well as went out for makan. Wanted to catch a movie as well, but it was kinda a last minute decision, so no tickets left. Oh well, there wasn’t anything great showing either anyway.
So sis, here’s for you;

Apple Dream Phone Unleashed
June 10th, 2008 · 2 Comments
It’s been long awaited, it’s been long anticipated, and finally it’s here. Steve Jobs has announced the pending shipment of the new Apple 3G iPhone to more than 22 countries worldwide, during his keynote at Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference in San Fran, not a few hours ago. According to Jobs, the next-gen iPhone is going to be smaller, sleeker, more powerful and cheaper than the currently available model. The 8GB model will be sold for US$199, while the 16GB model is going to go for US$299.

Day 3 in Taipei
June 4th, 2008 · 3 Comments
My feet are sore, my legs are aching, my back is aching, and I’m generally exhausted. However, this year has been loads of fun. I’ve finally taken the time out to do some relaxing, and see the ’sights’. Of course, I will include in this post my usual array of some of the showgirls from Computex hehe. I’ve not covered all that much yet, so I’ll just give the sneak preview.

On The Go Again
June 2nd, 2008 · No Comments
Once again, I find myself on the go, this trip, back to Taipei again. It’s sort of a familiar place for me, since I do happen to be here at least once a year. Not a lot of wonderful memories here though, since I’ve never really gone out to ‘play’ given the high cost of nightlife. I heard a typical round in the KTV nightclubs here range from NT$7000 to NT$9000, which is pretty steep if you ask me. That includes the room for 4 hours, free flow of drinks, a girl to accompany you, strip dance for you, give you a hand job and basically let you molest her for the entire 4 hours you’re there. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be an option where those activities are NOT included. Weird if you ask me. I’m sure not EVERY guy wants to autoroam his hands all over the lady’s body.
I’ll see how this trip round ends up though. I’m kind of fed up coming to Taipei and doing nothing but working every year. Should I make this year different? Hmm.. :p

Better Broadband
May 29th, 2008 · No Comments
Whilst many of us here have gripes about our wonderful national broadband carrier Screamyx, I’m glad to see that there are so many other better options elsewhere. Trillion, in the United States, for example provides excellent e-rate eligible secure broadband services for education. They have become one of the largest competitive broadband carriers of broadband there, serving over 1,500 schools all over the country. Time for our own carriers to sit up and take note, I think.
